For the month of July, we traveled to Southern Europe with our Italian themed dinner. Y’all ready know… Chibog time!!! hahahha! Carbs on carbs on carbs!
Unfortunately, we weren’t complete last Saturday (22 July 2017) and from the last two dinners, our Italian dinner felt like we were all “adulting” ahhaha! I had this tito and tita’s of Christchurch feels that night. lol!
Kuya Mike made chicken and cranberry pizza, pepperoni pizza and garlic bread – from scratch! Ruby made cheesy lasagna goodness and I constructed the cheese board. I used baguette and water crackers, trail mix to add crunch and sweetness, champagne ham and we had 4 different kinds of cheese: brie, camembert, smokey gouda and the crowd’s favorite honey pistachio cheese. To lessen the guilt of having lots of carbs and the Tiramisu for dessert, Ate Angelie also made mixed green salad with feta cheese in red wine vinegar dressing.
Jiza and Lisette brought winesss… Yes, winesss… hahaha! We had a little wine tasting party. They also brought an Italian beer called Peroni. Perfect pair for the Pepperoni pizza maybe? haha!
Over some cheese and vino, we planned our next trip. Hooker Valley version 2.0. Our first trip to Mount Cook was January this year and it was during Summer. So…We all agreed to postpone our trip to the US next month. Instead, we’ll do the walk while the mountain is still covered with snow! Egggzoiiiting!!!
After we had our dessert, we watched a horror/rom-com film titled Pee Mak. Yeah… Yeah.. I know… It’s not Italian. We all had a good laugh during the movie though and that’s what we had in mind when we decided to have an Italian dinner. To just chill, enjoy and have good vibes.
