Will of the Wind: Hooker Valley Winter Edition

The will of the wind, you feel it and then,
It will pass you blowing steady.
It comes and it goes, and God only knows,
You must keep your sails on ready.
So when it begins, get all that you can;
You must befriend the will of the wind.

 I can’t stop myself but to sing this song. Sadly, we didn’t have the best weather to go for a walk. We were only looking forward for some snow but got to experience not just snow but rain, strong winds and sunshine on that day.

Due to the bad weather, I wasn’t able to take lots of photos or video footage from our walk. Safety first! Haha! We need to focus on not getting knocked down because of the strong winds and I didn’t want my camera to get wet. Although I have my GoPro, I thought I should focus on looking where I’m going to avoid accident. Speaking of accident, Justin (my younger brother) did fell from the walk way. He’s too thin! Wind – 1, Justin – 0. hahaha! Went home with a scratched knee. 😦

Still good number of visitors that day even though the weather is not that suitable for a two hour return track with a lot of open spaces which made it challenging this time.

It definitely took us more than two hours to finish the track. But then I can say that we did befriended the will of the wind because we survived! 😀

We checked in at The Godley Hotel. This time, we occupied 3 rooms. We were all tired and hungry, so we had an early dinner and just like before, we brought cooked food to save time. Speaking of time… You know what it is! It’s chibog time!!!

Of course, we can never be at Lake Tekapo and not go to the hot pools. So, after dinner, we all went to relax and enjoy at the steamy hot pool on a cold winter night.

And that’s it for our Hooker Valley Winter Edition. Can’t wait to head North-West of the South Island for our next adventure! 😉
